About Me

I live and paint in the quiet of the Midwestern Heartland. My contemporary paintings show my impression of the big skies, old barns, farms, houses, fields, forests & meadows of the American heartland. I paint from my memories and impressions of places that I have been inspired by. I have been working on a series of paintings that show these quiet, calm and peaceful landscapes. My painting style leans towards realism, although I often use elements of tonalism, impressionism and the abstract in them also. I received a BFA in Fine Art from Northern IL University. My original art has been shown in gallery shows in the U.S. and is in private collections throughout the U.S.A. as well as in: Iceland, France, Canada, Belgium, Ireland, England, Scotland, Portugal, Italy, Japan, Australia and Brazil. An article about my original heartland landscape paintings was in the fine Art Magazine "Empty Easel", my paintings have been featured in the heritage cookbook by Cinagro Farm, and as cover art on a classical CD by the Wingra Quintet.
