I have been watching the beautiful field of winter wheat to the west of our old farmstead this year and love seeing the "waves" through it, on windy days.  It has just started to ripen and turn from green to tan now, and is my inspiration for this new piece.  This is one of my very small pieces - that measures just 7 x 5", and is done on gesso over hardboard.  This surface gives a different feel and look to my work, than I get on stretched canvas.  I also have a couple of new pieces that are done on linen over board, as I have recently been working in several different painting surfaces for my work.
