This painting idea came to me while hiking recently at a midwestern state park. I liked seeing the tree line against the sky that day and although it was a blue sky and no flowers in the meadow, I decided on a golden yellow sky and many flowers blooming in the meadow for this work. When I begin a new painting I often have a vague idea for it and let the work develop as I look at the canvas and decide what I see in it for the piece.
